School Student Accounts

For school subscriptions, students log in using a class code and PIN. No email or personal account is required. Schools act as the agent of parents for COPPA consent purposes under the school official exception, and may only use the Services for educational purposes.

Parents and guardians have the right to:

  • Request deletion of their child's personal information

  • Refuse to allow further collection or use of their child's information

Subscriptions + Billing

Subscription Plans
Musical Chess offers monthly and yearly subscription plans. Pricing and features are displayed at the time of purchase.


Automatic Renewal
Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You will be charged the current subscription rate at renewal.

 

Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you will retain access until then.


Refunds
Subscription fees are generally non-refundable. However, we may provide refunds on a case-by-case basis for exceptional circumstances. Contact us at app@playmusicalchess.com for refund requests.


Free Accounts
Free "Play Along Bells" accounts provide limited access to digital bell features at no cost. Free accounts may be upgraded to paid subscriptions at any time.

School + Institutional Use

School Subscriptions
Schools may purchase institutional subscriptions to provide access to students and teachers. School administrators are responsible for managing accounts and ensuring appropriate use.


FERPA Compliance
For school accounts, we act as a "school official" under FERPA and use student education records only for authorized educational purposes. We do not use student data for non-educational commercial purposes.


Student Data
Student data from school accounts is owned by the school. Upon request, we will provide schools with their student data or delete it when no longer needed for educational purposes.


Teacher Responsibilities
Teachers using school accounts agree to use the Services only for legitimate educational purposes and to protect student login credentials.
